PRESS RELEASE: Saint Patrick High School Becomes a Founding School of The CPR Ready Generation™

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Student-led movement launches in Chicago to build a culture of CPR readiness, confidence, and action.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, August 11, 2026 – Saint Patrick High School has been named an Official Founding School of The CPR Ready Generation™, joining a select group of schools helping launch a new student-led movement focused on preparing the next generation to step forward when lives are on the line.

The CPR Ready Generation™, sponsored by WorldPoint and Defibtech, is designed to help students move beyond simply learning CPR to developing the confidence and readiness to act in a real emergency. Rather than serving as another training program, the movement builds a culture where students encourage one another to be prepared, lead by example, and make lifesaving readiness visible throughout their school community.

As a Founding School, Saint Patrick High School will introduce the movement to students during launch activities taking place August 12–14, with opportunities for students to learn about the initiative, engage with CPR and AED awareness, and begin building a campus culture centered on leadership, preparedness, and service.

“We’re excited to welcome Saint Patrick High School as one of the very first Founding Schools of The CPR Ready Generation™,” said Shelly Amato, Executive Vice President of WorldPoint. “This movement is about helping students become the kind of people who are ready to step forward when someone needs help. Saint Patrick is helping lead that effort from the very beginning.”

Students participating in the launch will have the opportunity to become part of a growing national movement that encourages peer leadership, community engagement, and a shared commitment to readiness. Through school activities and social participation, students will help normalize conversations around readiness, stepping in in emergencies, and CPR and AED awareness while inspiring others to get involved.

“Students have an incredible ability to shape culture,” Amato said. “When readiness becomes something students own, talk about, and encourage in one another, confidence grows—and that’s what ultimately helps people act when every second counts.”

As one of the movement’s Founding Schools, Saint Patrick High School will receive official recognition acknowledging its role in helping establish The CPR Ready Generation™ and its commitment to empowering students to become leaders in preparedness and service. Saint Patrick High School is among the first schools in the nation to launch The CPR Ready Generation™, with additional Founding Schools expected to join throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
