Jackson Hole High School Joins The CPR Ready Generation™ With Friday Night Football Launch

Student-led movement encourages every student to be ready to step forward when someone needs help

JACKSON, Wyo. — September 1, 2026 — Jackson Hole High School will officially launch The CPR Ready Generation™ on Friday, September 4, during the school’s varsity football game, joining a growing group of schools helping students build the confidence to step forward in an emergency.

The CPR Ready Generation™ is a student-led, school-supported movement sponsored by WorldPoint, with Defibtech serving as a founding sponsor. The movement is built around a simple idea: when an emergency happens, everyone can have a role in helping.

That does not mean every student has to be CPR certified. Stepping in can mean recognizing that something is wrong, calling 911, locating an AED, getting help, supporting someone who is performing CPR, or having the confidence to act rather than stand back and wait for someone else.

For students who are CPR trained, the goal is to help turn that training into real-world confidence. For those who are not, the message is just as important: you can still be part of the response.

The CPR Ready Generation™ was created to address the gap between knowing about CPR and being ready to act when the moment comes. It works alongside existing CPR education by building a visible culture of readiness, confidence, peer influence and student leadership. The movement is not a certification program or a replacement for CPR instruction.

Friday night’s launch will bring that message into one of the most visible gathering places in the Jackson Hole High School community — a varsity football game — giving students, families and community members an opportunity to see the movement take shape.

Jackson Hole students will help lead the effort, encouraging their peers to think about what they would do in an emergency, share why readiness matters and invite other students to participate. That student-to-student model is central to The CPR Ready Generation™, which is designed to grow through participation, visibility and peer influence.

“Being ready doesn’t mean you have to know everything or do everything,” said Shelly Amato. “It means being willing to step forward and do what you can when someone needs help. Maybe you know CPR. Maybe you call 911, grab the AED or get someone who can help. What we want students to understand is that they have a role. We want to build a generation that doesn’t assume someone else will step in.”

Jackson Hole High School joins Huntley High School and Saint Patrick High School among the early schools helping establish The CPR Ready Generation™. Participating students can begin simply by joining the conversation and making readiness visible, with opportunities over time to grow into ambassador, school leadership and mentorship roles.

The September 4 launch is intended to be the beginning, not a one-night event. Following the football game, students will continue building awareness and participation throughout the school, encouraging classmates to talk about readiness, invite others into the movement and help create a culture where stepping forward becomes the expectation.

About The CPR Ready Generation™

The CPR Ready Generation™ is a student-led movement that helps turn CPR and AED awareness into confidence, culture and action. Sponsored by WorldPoint, with Defibtech as a founding sponsor, the movement works alongside existing CPR education and gives students a simple way to take ownership of readiness in their schools and communities.

Its goal is bigger than training alone: to build a generation that notices, steps forward and helps — whether that means performing CPR, calling for help, finding an AED or making sure someone takes action.

From trained to ready. And ready to step in.
